SUCCESSFUL MOBILISATIONS TOS - EMAR

15 May 2018

‘Personally, I know TOS from when I worked for Van Oord. With the mobilisation of the Global crew boats from Dubai to Venezuela in 2013, I directly had contact with TOS again. As Operations Manager at EMAR Offshore Services, I was considering ‘dry’ or ‘wet’ transport for 3x 42-metre ships. Dry transport on board of a scheduled service or submersible ship avoids damage, delay due to weather conditions, etc. Nevertheless, we went for wet transport. We were sailing with a ship’s crew, so the operations in Venezuela could begin much sooner. The quicker the ships could be contracted, the sooner the project could begin to minimise the initial costs of starting up. TOS gave us sufficient reassurance to wager the crossing, while the shipowner understandably had a preference for dry transport. We had a rough journey across the Mediterranean, but the mobilisations were successful,’ tells Ronald Hania.

Ronald: ‘The partnership has always gone well. We are very satisfied with TOS and their employees are put together the same way we are. They always have ideas to offer and TOS is open for last minute changes, which is not unheard of in this dynamic business. All ships have arrived on location on time and in good condition. This means that we are able to deliver our maritime service and ships to our clients, as agreed. Also, their contract is well organised. It gives a realistic overview of the costs and risks up front. This is important for us. TOS provides an experienced crew, professional guidance and strong communication. You say the word and they know what to do. Many of the colleagues working at the office have sailed themselves. So they know what it’s like and they can help come up with real solutions. This is essential for reaching our ultimate goal of a satisfied client.’
